Tell us about your family.
We’re a family of four with two kids, ages 7 and 9. Our youngest—our 7-year-old—is autistic.
What was your biggest adjustment when becoming a mum?
After I had my first baby (my son Jack), I felt like I was getting left behind in the world.
I’d always had a career, freedom, and a strong sense of identity, and I really felt like I lost that.
Looking back, I wish I had slowed down more and given myself grace.
How do you manage the juggle when it comes to trying to do it all?
Some days I do it really well… and other days I crumble. I’m ridiculously busy with my start-up while also maintaining my photography business. The start-up won’t be profitable for years, so it’s financially tough.
I try to keep up with exercise (it’s essential for my mental health) and I switch off tech at 5pm. I’ve dealt with burnout before, so now I try to take small breaks throughout the day.
What is the best thing about being a mum?
The unconditional love I get to express to my kids. I absolutely adore them.
What’s been your biggest challenge as a mum?
Feeling like you need to “do it all.”

What surprised you the most when becoming a mum?
How long it took to feel like myself again. After my son was born, I felt like my head was in the clouds for about 18 months. You really do need to give yourself time and grace.
What do you wish you knew before becoming a mum?
Don’t worry about the future version of you — just be present. Things will feel hard, but take it slow. Everything comes in good time.
Any advice to a new mum or soon-to-be-mum?
I would just want new Mums to know more about the baby blues, postpartum and things you can do to heal after having a baby. These things are not talked about enough.

If you could go back in time, what would you tell yourself or others?
Don’t worry so much. No one does it perfectly. Really enjoy the baby stage — it goes so quickly.
Do you have any tips or tricks to manage the day-to-day juggle?
Honestly, I’m still working it out. I definitely don’t have it all figured out. When you find out, please let me know!
How do you manage your time to fit in career, being a mum, relationship and time for you?
I’m still figuring this out, because the lines are very blurred. I try to have intentional time with my kids, especially on weekends. I prioritise personal fitness (hot pilates is my current obsession).
My husband definitely comes last at the moment… but we’re working on creating more time together, especially once we move.
Who is in your village and you couldn’t live without?
My in-laws and the other mums from school.

Your favourite holiday spot?
Bali — I love it. I usually stay with friends in Berawa.
I also adore Waikiki — we went as a family in 2023 and surfed the main breaks.
Why do you love it?
Surf, surf, surf. It’s warm, barefoot living, sunshine, and pure simplicity.
What location is on top of your wish list to travel to next?
The Maldives — the central atolls.
Your favourite brand & Why:
Zulu & Zephyr, Rowie, and Kinga Csilla — small indie brands with gorgeous materials and beautiful prints.
The trend you’re loving right now:
Oversized everything.

The trend you can’t get on board with:
Cut-outs in tops and dresses.
Your latest brand discovery:
Where do you do most of your fashion shopping?
Online.
What does a healthy lifestyle mean to you?
A healthy mind — more than anything. I used to exercise for how it made me look, but now I do it purely for mental health.
How do you keep your body moving?
Surfing, hot pilates (with weights), and walking.
Your top tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle:
- Consistency is key.
- Start something — and make it part of your routine.
(If you’d like, I can turn this into a full Top 5 list.)
Your non-negotiables when it comes to health and wellness:
Filtered water, whole foods, and my weekly hot pilates.
What does ‘balance’ mean to you?
Honestly… I’m not sure I have any!

You’ve launched your brand, Sol Sista Co. Can you tell us what inspired you to create it?
I noticed a gap in the market for conscious, natural beauty for women who love the outdoors.
After discovering surfing five years ago, I started noticing the damage to my skin and hair.
I wanted to create a brand that resonated with women like me.
What has been the most challenging part of launching Sol Sista Co. ?
Where do I start? The huge financial outlay. The reality that you have to do ten full-time jobs at once. Imposter syndrome. Being the face of the brand and showing up online constantly.
What has been the best thing about launching Sol Sista Co.?
Hearing so many positive reviews from women who genuinely love the products.

What are your dreams & goals for the brand?
A global brand with a full product suite — fully automated so I can live out my days barefoot and surfing.
What’s the most important thing you want people to know about your products and the brand?
That it’s natural and premium. Every ingredient is thoughtfully chosen for its hydrating, nourishing, and protective properties.
