Can you tell us a little about you and your family?
I’m married to my husband, Mark, and we have two teenage kids, a 16-year-old daughter and a 14-year-old son, plus our dog, who’s very much part of the family.
Adjusting to motherhood…
The biggest adjustment was definitely the loss of time for myself. I’ve always loved my own company, and having my first child at 38 meant I’d spent a lot of time being independent. Suddenly, there was no personal time, which was a massive shift for me.
How do you manage the juggle?
For me, it’s about letting go of mum guilt and focusing on being a strong role model for my kids.
“It’s important to me that my children see a mum who has followed her passions, founded a business, and worked hard to achieve her goals. I want them to grow up inspired and free of gender bias, knowing they can chase their dreams too.”
The best thing about motherhood?
The bond and unconditional love are unlike anything else. It’s such a privilege to share in their first experiences and see the world through their eyes. Their excitement and curiosity bring so much joy and a fresh perspective to life.

The biggest challenge?
Learning to let go has been a challenge. Stepping back to let them navigate the tough moments and trust that those experiences will help them grow stronger and more resilient.
The biggest surprise?
How quickly they grow up. You always hear people say, “It goes so fast,” but you don’t truly understand it until you’re in the middle of it.
What do you wish you knew before becoming a mum?
That it’s okay not to have all the answers. Motherhood is a journey and you learn as you go. Trusting yourself and being kind to yourself is key.
If you could go back in time, what would you tell yourself or others?
Don’t sweat the small stuff! I’d remind myself to enjoy the little moments.
Any advice for managing the day-to-day juggle?
Don’t be afraid to ask for help – it’s not a weakness, it’s a superpower. Also, prioritise self-care like it’s an appointment you can’t cancel. When you feel good, everything else flows better. Lastly, be kind to yourself. Some days will be messy, and that’s perfectly okay, you’re doing great.
How do you manage your time between work, motherhood, and everything in between?
I prioritise what’s most important and focus on being fully present in the moment, whether it’s family time, work or time with my friends. Saying no to things that don’t spark joy is a game-changer.
Who’s in your village?
My family and friends. They’re my rock, and I couldn’t do any of this without their love and support.

The 5 things in your bag you can’t leave home without:
- My Apple iPhone
- Kosas Lip Oil in Unbuttoned tint
- Perfume: Maison Margiela Under The Lemon Tree (takes me back to Italy)
- Laser Measuring Tool (I’m always measuring sites for future Upstate studios!)
- Sunglasses: Oroton Astrid
Favourite holiday destination?
Italy, hands down! In 2023, I stayed in a beautiful villa in Tuscany with 24 girlfriends to celebrate a close friend’s 50th birthday. It was the ultimate girls’ trip – incredible food, great wine and endless laughs. My first visit to Italy was back in my early 20s, backpacking with one of those same friends.
Why do you love it?
What I love most about Italy is the way it makes you slow down. It’s not just the amazing food (though let’s be honest, the pasta and wine don’t hurt!); it’s the simplicity of life there.

Top of the travel wish list?
Japan! This time, it’s a family adventure and we’re all so excited to dive into everything Japan has to offer. It’s going to be such a fun, memory-making holiday, and I can’t wait to soak it all in with my family.
Favourite brand?
Ganni. It’s playful, fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously. Kind of how I love to live my life!
Trend you’re loving right now?
Leopard! It’s such a fun neutral option that goes with everything.
Trend you can’t get on board with?
Low-rise jeans. Some trends are better left in the past!
Latest brand discovery?
Lucy Folk. I love their gorgeous store in Windsor (Victoria).

Where do you do most of your fashion shopping?
Online, but I love hitting the high streets and exploring new finds when I’m travelling!
What does a healthy lifestyle mean to you?
It’s about having the time to enjoy the things that bring you happiness.
How do you keep your body moving?
Being the co-founder of Upstate Studios definitely helps – movement is at the heart of what we do! My go-to is daily yoga, pilates, or boxing. It’s the perfect way to feel strong, grounded, and energised.

Your top 5 tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle?
- Discover what gives you energy and makes you feel good and do more of that.
- Learn to say no to things that don’t spark joy.
- Spend time in nature – it’s grounding and helps give perspective.
- Build consistency in small, simple routines that work for you.
- Surround yourself with people who inspire and uplift you.
Your health + wellness non-negotiables?
For me, it’s sleep, coffee (a must!), and daily movement. These three are essential to keeping me happy, productive and feeling my best.
What does “balance” mean to you?
I don’t try to achieve balance… I believe in living ONE BIG AMAZING LIFE. I lean into what I need to at that moment, that day or week and I communicate that with the people around me. There are times when you need to lean into being a mum, there are times when it’s all about the business and times when I just want to hang out with my friends, and that’s ok. It’s messy and often chaotic but so much fun!
