Tell us about your family. How many Kids?
I’ve been married to Chad for 12 years, and we have one beautiful nine-year-old daughter, Avielle.
Although, I always joke that my salons are my other children. They’re 12, 5 and almost 2!
We’re also proud fur-parents to Boris, our Siberian cat, and Rico, our Portuguese Water Dog.
What was the biggest adjustment for you when you became a mum?
The lack of sleep, definitely! But also realising that despite thinking I was pretty good at juggling everything before motherhood, I suddenly got hit with ‘baby brain’. I’d forget things, lose my train of thought, and sometimes couldn’t even string a sentence together. It was frustrating and something I wasn’t prepared for at all.
How do you manage the juggle when it comes to trying to do it all?
By accepting that I actually can’t do it all. I’ve learned to be kinder to myself when I drop the ball, which definitely still happens from time to time, and to remind myself that I’m doing the best I can.
What is the best thing about being a mum?
Simply being a mum. It’s the best and most important job in the world and brings me endless joy. Watching Chad and I teach Avielle how to be a good human makes me smile every day. I feel incredibly grateful to experience motherhood.
What has been the biggest challenge?
The juggle, without a doubt. I genuinely believed I could do it all: run a business and raise a newborn.
Ridiculously, I thought I’d have plenty of free time while the baby slept, so I took over ownership of Lash Republic during that season too.
The pressure I put on myself was enormous, and looking back, it was incredibly hard.
What surprised you most when becoming a mum?
That I couldn’t do it all. It took me a long time not to see that as a failure. Eventually, I shifted the goalposts to simply doing “as well as I can in this moment,” and that mindset change helped enormously.
The beautiful surprise, though, was the love. Your heart genuinely expands for this tiny little human in a way you never thought possible.

What do you wish you knew before becoming a mum?
That I’d never sleep the same way again! And honestly, that the birth itself, in our case an emergency C-section, is the least of your worries in the grand scheme of motherhood.
If you could go back, what would you tell yourself before becoming a mum?
Take it one day at a time. Try to enjoy every moment, even when life feels like a complete shitshow.
My Instagram tagline is, “Perfectly doing imperfect,” and honestly, it’s never felt more true.
Do you have any tips or tricks to manage the day-to-day juggle?
Get up early. I wake up at 5am, meditate, journal and go to the gym. There’s something really special about being awake before the rest of the house wakes up. That morning routine keeps me grounded and helps me manage the chaos of everyday life.
It sounds cliché, but mindset is everything. Chad and I both have busy schedules, so sharing an iCal calendar helps too, provided we actually remember to check it!

How do you manage your time to fit in career, being a mum, relationship and time for you?
What is time for me? (Laughs.)
I admit I’m a bit of a workaholic, although I think that’s because I genuinely love my business and my team. Sometimes getting a sneaky blow-dry while processing payroll feels like self-care and a major win.
But it’s definitely a challenge, and creating more white space for myself is actually on my 2026 to-do list. I’ll let you know how I go.
Who is in your village and you couldn’t live without?
My mum, without question. She helps enormously with school pick-ups and after-school activities, and it’s so beautiful watching the relationship she’s built with Avielle, even if she does spoil her a little bit!
The 5 things in your bag you can’t leave home without?
My phone: My entire life is on there. Credit cards, to-do lists, meditation apps, journalling apps and everything in between. That said, holidays mean switching it off completely, which feels incredibly freeing.
Vida Glow Daily Collagen Shots: Always in my bag.
Airyday Dreamscreen SPF50+: A daily essential.
Blush Cosmetics lipsticks and glosses: I never travel with just one.
Your favourite holiday spot is…
Vancouver, without a doubt. We’ve visited in 2015, 2019 and again in 2024.
I love being surrounded by nature, with the mountains, waterfront and incredible scenery all on your doorstep. The food scene is amazing too.
I’ve already told Chad that one day, we’ll own a little cabin in the woods there.

What location is on the top of your wish-list to travel to next?
Japan is definitely high on the list. Although, if I’m being honest, I’m feeling a little burnt out at the moment, so anywhere with a beach, a pool and a good book would make me very happy.
What is your favourite brand and why?
I’m loving Aje at the moment. The styles fit beautifully, the quality is fantastic, and it’s an Australian brand, which makes it an easy win.
The trend you can’t get on board with
Anything with cut-outs. It’s just not for me!
Where do you do most of your fashion shopping?
If I’m after something specific, I’ll usually head to Melbourne or Chadstone. That said, we’re lucky that our salons are close to some amazing boutiques in Newtown and Torquay. Collections for Women, B George and Mariposa Gypsy are among my favourites.
To be honest, being time-poor means I don’t shop nearly as much as I used to, or enjoy it in the same way. I used to find it incredibly relaxing, but now, needing an outfit at the last minute for an event gives me more anxiety than excitement.

What does a healthy lifestyle mean to you?
Feeling good. Feeling energised. Feeling nourished.
When I’m eating well, sleeping well, exercising and meditating consistently, I feel like I’m on top of the juggle, or at least like the balls aren’t all about to drop at once.
What do you do to keep your body moving?
Spin classes, reformer Pilates, strength training and yin yoga every week.
What are your top tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle?
After doing a wellness retreat in Thailand years ago, I stopped eating red meat and have been pescatarian ever since. I also practise intermittent fasting, which works really well for me.
I’ve significantly reduced my alcohol intake too. I used to think it helped me unwind, but these days, more than one glass of red leaves me feeling far less focused the next morning.
Sleep is another huge priority in our household. Chad and I both monitor our sleep through Eight Sleep, and meditation remains one of my biggest tools for managing stress, especially after recently building a house!
What are your non-negotiables when it comes to health and wellness
Wake up early, meditate, hydrate, exercise, sleep, and repeat.
What does the word ‘balance’ mean to you?
Balance suggests an equal split between work and life, and I actually think that’s unrealistic and can create expectations that simply aren’t achievable.
Balance looks different for everyone because our circumstances and priorities are constantly changing. For me, it’s about creating a healthy integration between work and life, rather than trying to divide everything equally.

Do you have plans to expand Blush Bar further?
Absolutely. Growth will always be part of our long-term vision, but exactly what that looks like… you’ll have to wait and see!
What has been the biggest challenge of running Blush Bar?
I think every business owner understands this feeling of always being on.
You might technically have a day off, but mentally switching off is another story.
My team are incredible and I trust them with my life, so it’s not about them at all. It’s about giving myself permission to truly disconnect, which can be difficult. Business ownership is rewarding, but it can also be incredibly hard and, at times, quite lonely.
What’s the best part of running Blush Bar?
The flexibility, to a degree, over my schedule. Working alongside an incredible group of women. And, of course, all the perks of salon life, blow-dries, spray tans and facials!
What has surprised you the most about having your own business?
How much I’ve grown as a person.
Running a business constantly pushes you outside your comfort zone and forces you to keep learning, both as a leader and as a human.
No two days are ever the same, and I genuinely love that continuous growth.

What does the future look like for Blush Bar?
I truly believe the next decade is going to be even better as we continue to grow, evolve and see our vision come to life.
